« La littérature nourrit nos esprits et la cuisine nourrit nos corps »
Welcome to and thank you for visiting my Reading and stirring.
One can claim that there is no connection between reading and cooking. I would argue that they are closely related because the literature nourishes our spirit and the kitchen nourishes our body. The verb to nourish is a meaningful word. Not only does it mean to feed your body in a literary sense, but also the way of living as a metaphor. Books and gastronomy awake our spiritual, physical sensations and feelings, passion and imagination.
From centuries, novelists, poets, critics and essayists have described and incorporated recipes and dishes in their works, which make these literary pieces exceptional and sensational. To the statement The authors cook on paper, sample dishes on the pages they write, I would add, since I am not a writer, I cook in a sauté pan.
In my blog I will include all my favorite recipes (also from my favorite books).
